About Me
Hello, I’m Cari, a licensed acupuncturist in Greenville, South Carolina. I’ve experienced a lot of back pain in my life. It started when I was a teenager, and I tried everything to alleviate it. Chiropractors helped, as did exercise, but suddenly one year I was in excruciating pain, and nothing seemed to help. I was a professional photographer at the time – a job that was hard on my body. I was afraid of needles, but I had tried everything else, so I scheduled an acupuncture appointment at a local clinic. Six treatments later, my pain was gone, and it hasn’t returned in the years since. I was convinced. I started going to acupuncture for my migraines, seasonal allergies, and to keep my emotions even-keeled. I noticed it helped my sleep and my mood.
After moving to Greenville in 2014, I decided to make a career change. I knew that acupuncture had helped me tremendously, and I wanted to help people in that way. I began by becoming a yoga teacher and learning how the body moves. I taught lessons focused on regaining flexibility and movement of joints.
In 2016, I enrolled in Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine for my master’s degree. During those four years, I spent time in our school’s clinic, treating patients under the supervision of licensed acupuncturists. In July of 2020, I graduated with a Diploma of Acupuncture. I believe it’s possible to age in a healthy way, and I think that acupuncture can play an important role in achieving that goal.
